Do You Deserve a Day of Renewal?

You work hard. Your schedule is packed. You spend time attending to the needs of those in your charge. You expend energy bringing pleasure to those you love. You work towards creating a just world, & you strive to enrich it with beauty.

So much to do! Where do you get all that energy? What do you do when it runs low? You need–and deserve–time to recharge, renew, re-nourish your body, mind & spirit.

Wouldn’t it be great to get some bodywork? To re-spark your vital energy? To take a little extra time to re-focus & be more mindful? Or maybe to have someone help you with that Dream you had recently, or to join with a few people for healing.

I’m offering mini-Dream Amplification sessions to help you give cultural & archetypal context to a symbol from one of your dreams. Bring a short, recent (or recurring) dream. Don’t have a dream? We can still work with your internal imagery through the Tarot!

If you treated me as we treat teens, I’d be O.D.D., too!

A colleague on a forum recently asked about the best techniques for working with a teenager diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder. This was my reply:

“Virtually all of the teens I’ve met who have been diagnosed with O.D.D. are only oppositional in certain situations. When they are treated with the same respect afforded adults, treated fairly, have reasonable boundaries set & upheld without judgment, are involved in co-creating future consequences, & do not feel as though they are in double binds, they are not oppositional. You do have to take time to work to develop trust so they can actually believe that you are an adult who will treat them with respect, of course…. I’ve also found that praising the talents they’ve developed (including pushing adults’ buttons) & processing how those skills have served (& hindered) them is pretty helpful. I’ve been working with teenagers in this way for 35 years, & it seems to work well.”
